WHO ARE WE?
VF Dalston (et. 2007) is an originator and incubator of queer arts and entertainment in Dalston. VFD has previously hosted Hatred is a Bitter Fruit - an Arts Council funded project led by award winning poetry-curator Jaq Ennis-Cole. Hatred is a Bitter Fruit consisted of free poetry workshops for LGBTQIA+ communities with the goal of producing a free poetry anthology - Hatred is a Bitter Fruit (being released Jan/Feb 2025)
For nine years we hosted Spoken Word London, an open-mic poetry and performance night open to the community as a whole. SWL was the subject of a short documentary by Amelia Hazlitt and a feature film by Timothy Lock.
