We're BACK for a night of queer poetry and community! Join us as Queer Poetry Collective takes on Poetry Night at The Common Press bookshop on 26 November — with all ticket sales donated to The Common Press' fundraiser.
We'll have guest readings from award-winning and prize-commended queer poets, whose work has featured across a range of independent journals and publishers:
Shanay Neusum-James is a writer and actress based in London. She is an alumna of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective, Barbican Young Poets and The Obsidian Foundation. Shanay has been published in Magma, Ambit Magazine, and fourteenpoems. Her debut pamphlet surrender dorothy was published by Bad Betty Press in 2022.
Peter Scalpello is a poet and psychotherapist based in London. They are the author of Limbic.
And we're looking for a third... watch this space...
After the readings, we'll have our first OPEN MIC — make sure to bring those beautiful and dangerous poems you've been working on, just started, or that need a bit of a dust off. Give us all the flavour of your work.
See you there.

What we're about at Queer Poetry Collective:
A new community of queer poets and poetry lovers, we come together to celebrate, hear from and meet new, emerging and established LGBTQIA+ poetry voices. Through this, we promote and protect queer spaces and causes.
