QUEER FARM CLUB
Every Month we meet up at Spitalfields City Farm, so come and spend the day crafting at the farm, making things for the farm shop, exploring the farm or cooking, and then feast in the evening !
What will we be doing?
- Wander around, say hi to the animals, take in the gardens, chill in the cafe area
- Help out making crafts for the farm shop (this is different every time and is seasonal)
- Chill reading/knitting/drawing/crafting at the farm for the vibes
- Help with the cooking for the feast!
- Come along just for the feast!
SCHEDULE:
- 3PM - 5PM - Farm Time (crafting, cooking, exploring)
- 4PM - THE FARM GATES ARE LOCKED SO ARRIVE BEFORE THEN!
- 5PM - Feast
- 6:30PM - 7PM - TIDY UP TOGETHER!
Help with the feast is always welcome! This looks like chopping and peeling veg. Making salads. Stirring and watching the pot. Tidying/ washing up. Please wash your plates and bowls when you are finished with them 🥰
FARM DAY
For the farm day think fun community vibes, enjoying nature, helping out, crafting or having a slow day.
For the feast think lovely, cosy, nourishing vibes - coming together with our community to break bread, feel the love and make connections.
We will be providing plenty of food, using some farm food to make some lovely vegan GF dishes - but if you can,
please bring your own dishes to add to the table. (especially desserts!)
Donations are very welcome but if you can't donate, we still want you at the event!
BRING TUPPERWARE FOR LEFTOVERS!
THE FEAST TAKES PLACE IN A TENT STRUCTURE SO IT CAN BE CHILLY - There are heaters but please dress warm for the evening temperatures <3
ACCESSIBILITY
- The event will be taking place in the Safari tent at Spitalfields city farm
- The terrain from the entrance to the tent is not completely smooth, some of it is woodchips and some is plastic open mesh sunk into soil, some is cobblestones
- There are ramps into both structures
- There is an accessible toilet
- C lick here to see pictures of the venue
SOME RULES FOR YOUR VISIT(from the farm)
- We are happy to welcome Guide Dogs for the Blind, Disability Assistance Dogs, Disability Support Dogs, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Medical Assistance Dogs and Seizure Alert Dogs provided that:
- They are fully registered, kept under control and accompanied by their owners.
Owners must show the relevant Identification Cards upon entering the Farm and all assistance dogs must wear their identifying jackets whilst on site. ID card and jackets are a part of the regulations for all Registered and Trained Support Dogs in the UK.
There may be times when our livestock is loose on site, usually between 3-4:30pm - during which time the assistance dog will need to be supervised in the tent away from the animals passing through
- On the farm everyone should wash their hands before putting them near their mouths (eating, sucking thumbs or smoking). Full hand washing facilities are available at the farm.
- Children should be supervised at all times.
- Feeding the animals is not allowed unless approved by a member of staff or part of a planned activity.
- No chasing, throwing things or shouting at the animals.
- Wear appropriate clothing, e.g strong shoes/trainers, not open-toed sandals.
