Margate Pride is thrilled to announce the launch of our biannual Inclusion training sessions, aimed at community organisations, volunteer groups and small local businesses. These sessions aim to build participants knowledge and confidence, providing key tools to make spaces more inclusive and accessible to LGBTQIA+, Neurodivergent and disabled communities.
Our first two sessions will take place in LGBT+ History Month, February 2025, led by Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) specialist, speaker, educator, and activist Nell Andrew. With extensive experience in advocacy and training, Nell brings a wealth of expertise to these essential workshops.
Session 1: LGBTIQ+ Awareness Training

Including exploring key terminology, challenges communities face, and practical steps for creating inclusive spaces. Whether you’re new to LGBTIQ+ awareness or looking to deepen your understanding, this session will provide clear next steps and actions to support your groups inclusion ambitions.
Session 2: Disability and Accessibility Training

We understand that these types of training sessions are often prohibitively expensive for many people. We believe in the importance of sharing this knowledge in a way that is accessible to our community. That’s why we’re offering spaces on a pay-what-you-can basis.
To help guide contributions, we recommend the following prices per person:
- Low-income/Unwaged: £5
- Community/Non-profit organisations: £15
- Small businesses: £30
- Corporates or large organisations: £50
If the recommended prices are not feasible for you, please don’t hesitate to join us at a price that works for your circumstances. We want to make these sessions as inclusive as possible for everyone who wants to attend.
These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to:
- Enhance your understanding of LGBTIQ+ and disabled communities.
- Gain practical knowledge for supporting these groups.
- Build truly inclusive spaces in workplaces, events, or community settings.
Spaces are limited, so we encourage early registration. Let’s work together to make 2025 a year of meaningful inclusion and equity!
