Lucy is a journalist, community organiser and disability advocate. She writes about disability issues for publications like the Guardian, the FT and others. She is also vocal about ableism on social media, is a regular event and panel speaker, and is the co-founder of community events initiative Every Body Queer, which serves disabled LGBTQ+ people. Her debut memoir, The View From Down Here, looks at how sexism and ableism interact to shape the lives of disabled women. The View From Down Here is a powerful, honest, hilarious and furious memoir looking at life at the intersection; the struggles, the joys and the unseen realities of being a disabled woman. From navigating the worlds of education and work, dating and friendship; to managing care; contemplating motherhood; and learning to accept your body against a pervasive narrative that it is somehow broken and in need of fixing.
Ellen Jones is an award-winning speaker, writer, strategist & campaigner who works with the world's foremost organisations and brands to instigate and sustain transformative shifts towards inclusion, particularly for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities. Ellen’s debut book, Outrage: Why the Fight for LGBTQ+ Equality Is Not Won, and What You Can Do About It will be published by Bluebird Pan Macmillan in January 2025, which explores the practical actions people can take to support the LGBTQ+ community.
