This month, we’re switching things up! Instead of following a theme with open reading materials, we’ll be diving into an incredible book: Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner. This memoir deserves its very own little book club session for all the tears we shed and all the reflective conversations we’ve had whilst reading.
Here’s the plan:
Read the book (if you can) in time for our next session. If you’d like to grab a copy, it's available at Lighthouse Bookshop (let us know if you'd like a discount code 😌) We also have a couple of free copies which we can lend you so please don’t hesitate to request this.
If you don’t have time to read, listen to Japanese Breakfast, Zauner’s band, or read a few articles and reviews to get the gist (find the links below).
Either way, we’ll have plenty to talk about—food, loss and grief, identity, home, and even motherhood. We’ll see where the conversation takes us!
If the discussion feels heavy at any point, feel free to take a moment for yourself, there will be plenty of space to do this.
