A workshop on self-publishing for marginalized writers and/or those who are writing about stigmatized topics, run by Jack Parker.
This workshop will cover:
- How to format and present your book or magazine, including how to create your own cover without running afoul of copyright law for those on a budget.
- A breakdown of costs associated with self-publishing, from ISBNs to ordering author copies.
- Methods of advertising that work best for marginalized people, including advice for sharing your work on platforms with heavy censorship.
- An honest look at how much money you can expect to make and what sales figures will look like.
- Creating accessible work, including font and colour choices.
- What platforms you can use and how they work.
- How to price your work.
- Maintaining motivation!
