Ordinary Stories is a storytelling event for the LGBTQ+ community, where we can share experiences and conversation, and connect with others in a casual and intimate setting.
We welcome all forms of storytelling: stories, poems, songs, or unplanned rambles. If you’d like to tell a story, you can sign up via the form here. There will also be a sign up sheet on the night. If you change your mind after signing up, not to worry, you're still welcome to come and just enjoy the event.
This next theme is ~ CHANGE ~
Some ideas for things to talk about:
Wind, water, sea, storms; cooking in a new kitchen; meeting a friend for the first time; moving house, moving country, changing job; your family history; resistance to change; history as change; spring flowers; growing up; breaking up; organising a protest; strength in difference; acts of solidarity
Because this event is held during LGBT History Month, we especially welcome stories about any aspect of LGBT history (your own or others).
This event will be held in the All Good Bookshop in Turnpike Lane.
