Put down your phone & pick up a friend!
We felt that sometimes these sorts of spaces and fitness-type classes can be challenging to navigate for queer, trans and non-binary folx. So we wanted to offer a safe and inclusive workshop for people to try something new, fun and hopefully empowering.
We will explore more than just movement - using it as a vehicle towards evolution in yourself and the way you connect with others and the world.
Expect a collaborative practice of movement, connection and play - specifically structured with methodical progressions to make it accessible for everyone.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Acro terminology (a universal way to communicate with other practitioners around the world).
Foundational postures/poses in laying and standing positions.
Transitions between postures.
Training and skills in body awareness.

… and lots of fun!
Bonus learning:
- Self-discovery
- Healthy communication
- About our relationship to touch, control and trust.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHERS:
Joey (they/them) possesses 7+ years of experience in acrobatics, having taught thousands of hours of classes, intensives, conventions and retreats around the UK, Europe and beyond.
Their style is drawn from teachers of many disciplines including circus, sports acro, acroyoga, physiotherapies, psychology, neuroscience and much more, forming an approach to acrobatics for everyone. Balancing accessible and fun training with a technique-driven approach.
Scarlot (she/they):
With a background in dance, aerial work, and modelling, Scarlot has a profound appreciation for self-expression through creativity and movement.
They have a special interest in partner acro as a pathway to emotional healing through physical touch and play. Icarian and standing acrobatics are her personal playground.
Inclusivity, consent, and safety are at the heart of everything Scarlot teaches. Her focus on creating a safe space for authentic expression encourages vulnerability and openness. They believe in a reciprocal approach to learning in which listening to those around you and your own body is key to mutual progression.
