Live Drawing Workshop with Lucie Arnoux
Tickets Off Sale
Join us for a very special live drawing session as part of the Queer Sound Weekender!
Illustrator and graphic novelist Lucie Arnoux will lead a live-drawing class in which attendees will learn how to sketch a musician as they are playing, focusing on the relationship between a person and their instrument.
Featuring live musician Rosie from Boom Boom Racoon!
Lucie is a French artist living in London. They started drawing comics at 14, when they joined the Studio Gottferdom. First published at 17 in Lanfeust Magazine, they produced monthly autobiographical stories in its pages for six years. They studied in Paris before finally moving to the UK and graduating from Kingston University in Illustration and Animation. A compulsive sketcher, Lucie has tried their hands at all sorts of painterly things. Designing theatre backdrops and prop painting with Olivier award-winning designer Tim Bird, live sketching as artist-in-residence for Sidmouth Folkweek, Womad and the Rose Theatre, illustrating comics and children’s books published internationally.
Rosie is the trumpet player of anarcho-acoustic ska-punk trio Boom Boom Racoon. As well as enjoying jumping around on stage and shouting about politics with the band, Rosie also sings and plays guitar on her own (much more quietly!). Recently she began dipping her toe into playing her first solo shows out.
