Ever wanted to travel back in time to the dyke nights of the past?
CARABINER: DYKE NIGHT 1985
Friday 14th March
9pm-2am
(9-10pm is a pre-drinks hour at the venue where solo queers are welcome and there will be lots of opportunities to make friends!)
Colours Hoxton
Dress Code - Crater gym tanks, mullets and leather jackets. Be you babes, but in 1985.
Calling all dykes and daddies, enbys and newbies, brats and bottoms, Carabiner is everyone's favourite dyke club night with, no exclusivity, just good music and a room full of dykes. This time we're hopping in our time machine and paying a little tribute to the queers who came before us.
As always, if you've got no-one to come with, no worries! We run a social hour at the beginning of the night for those wanting to meet new people, lots of people come on their own and I promise you won't be the only one. There will be people there to help you make friends.
Featuring our usual feast of temporary tattoos, all night karaoke room, an 80s makeup booth, unbelievable performers and the best DJs the dyke scene has to offer.
The dress code is 80s dyke. Think biker jackets, mullets, denim, big boots and bigger hair. Think roots, rebels and lavender menaces.
Colours Hoxton is wheelchair accessible (by lift) and has a disabled loo. We have an access co-ordinator available at all times throughout the night if you need any help with this. Please purchase an ‘access ticket’ if you have access needs and someone will email you to check in and see what we can do to make you comfy on the night.
TICKET TIERS EXPLAINED
We're committed to making queer nightlife accessible to queers on low incomes. We have multiple ticket tiers available to allow this to happen.
LOW INCOME TIX
These are for queers who are unemployed, on UC (or equivalent), working class students and people earning minimum wage. There is a limited number of these, so please be mindful.
GENERAL ADMISSION TIX
These are for salaried people, those not on minimum wage, people who have some savings but feel broke sometimes.
SOLIDARITY TIX
These are for those who don't worry daily about their rent and bills and/or consider themselves financially stable. Please reflect on whether this could be you - this allows us to add more low income tickets or give a guestlist spot to someone who wouldn't be able to attend otherwise.
CARER/SUPPORT WORKER
We arrange free tickets to those attending as a carer/support worker to a ticket holder. Please message on outsavvy, instagram or on bqpevents@gmail.com to arrange this.
We have a guestlist for those who cannot afford any ticket prices. Please message us.
Further access details will be posted in a dedicated instagram post on @bigqueerpicnic
Carabiner is a night for queer women, trans and non-binary people. Please do not bring cis male guests.
Tickets are non-refundable, however this event normally sells out and when this happens, resale will open for those wishing to return their tickets.
