Sonic Meditations: Session one with NADIM
Pay What You Can to £10
Using methods of deep listening from Pauline Oliveros' Sonic Meditations this event invites you to experience sound as a form of inquiry, presence, and transformation.
Artist NADIM presents a live sonic performance exploring dance music as resistance among African youth. Guests will be invited into a blindfolded deep listening session, followed by an open conversation on the emotions, ideas, and inspirations evoked by both the music and relevant readings.
This first session highlights Mahraganat's (Egypt) revolutionary energy, with a blindfolded deep listening session and open discussion on sound as activism.
Future sessions will examine Gqom (South Africa) and Singeli's (Tanzania) role in social change, showcasing dance music’s power in shaping resistance across the continent.
