Transgender Behind Prison Walls presents Sarah Jane Baker’s riveting account of life as the world’s longest serving transgender prisoner. Through her artistic, literary, and musical achievements, Sarah reveals the harsh and profound realities behind prison walls and discusses how her experiences fuel her activism for prison reform and transgender rights.
Speaker Bio
Sarah Jane Baker (she/her)
Sarah Jane Baker is the world’s longest serving transgender prisoner, writer, artist, and musician. Before her 2019 release, she published two books, exhibited her art at prestigious galleries, and earned musical accolades. Now a political commentator and human rights activist, Sarah draws on 30 years in prison to champion reform.

Westminster City Archives are located on 10 St Ann's Street, London SW1P 2DE between Morrison Court on 12 St Ann’s Street and behind Abbey Community Centre on Great Smith Street. The entrance to the archives is to the right of Morrison Court and then down a short pathway on the left. Please note there is no access to the archives from Great Smith Street.
