We've partnered with TGirlsOnFilm to present the London premiere of Louise Weard's epic transsexual odyssey and cult hit Castration Movie i. Traps (2024), the 4.5hr shit-kicking masterwork from the Canadian writer/director and star is an unmissable redefining of “trans cinema” that is destined to go down in history for its bold vision and narrative scale that - even this early in Weard's career - feels like watching the work of a filmmaker remarkably in control of something ultimately much bigger than just its infamous runtime.
From the cutthroat hellscape of 4chan and incel meltdowns, to DIY shows, kitchen table diatribes, surgeon's offices, and lovers' and clients' beds; Castration Movie's landscape is vivid and all-consuming, realised in delicious Hi8 photography as alive as its characters.
Find us downstairs at Dalston Superstore in our basement screen where we'll be stocked with free snacks, bean bags, and even a couch (in addition to our usual seating) to keep you going through a night that everyone is already talking about.
Don't miss the virtuosic finale of Girls Girls Girls: Transfemininity On Screen.
Who would do this on purpose?
