Queer Spellcasting
A series of workshops facilitated by Fortune Tailed Beast, focused on the intersection of the following:
Ritual
Queering language
Poetry
Creative writing
Eco-somatics
Through an animist, exploratory and political lens.
The first session will be on ‘Blessings of flight’ - where we will explore the air element, the mental realm, our dream worlds and our imaginations through breathwork, experimental writing and animist ritual.
We will start the session through divination and exploring the Swords aspect of tarot. Dealing with themes of mental health, communication, conflict, dreaming - the swords will inspire our writing and somatic practice.
There will be prompts for writing, with the awareness that our intentions, our poems and spoken words can act as spells that can transform our future or bring healing to our past.
We will end with a sharing & an offering to the birds and air spirits who will carry our spells and blessings through the skies.
No prior experience needed - this will be a welcoming space of co-creation wirh soft invitations and guidance to be adjusted to your needs and intuitive desires.
Access: the space is wheelchair accessible, on the ground floor. This is a neurodivergent friendly space - feel invited to bring stim toys, plushies or any emotionally precious altar piece (like a stone or crystal.)
