Thool
Thool is an enigmatic electronic music duo based in west Wales and south east London. Over their life long collaboration, they have experimented with their broad range of influences, from progressive rock, early music, sacred chant and grindcore to new age ambient, free improvisation, acid techno and breaks.
Thool has garnered a dedicated following within the underground electronic music scene. Their music has been described as hypnotic, immersive, and otherworldly, transporting listeners to a realm of deep, pulsating rhythms and intricate soundscapes. Their approach to music production involves rituals of divination, encounters with the natural world and attempts to engage with and include the more than human world.
Thool has released a handful of EPs and singles on various independent labels, each showcasing their signature style and pushing the boundaries of electronic music. Their live performances are rare and highly anticipated, with the duo incorporating costume, visuals and immersive lighting to create a participatory and immersive ritual for their audience. They have always pursued the disintegration of the barrier twixt audience and performer where possible, working with dancers and performance art in this aim.
They have committed to their life long experimental collaboration and will always exist in some form, denying the interference of distance or age.
