QUEER FILM NIGHTS at Farr's Dalston Basement with guest film curator Giancarlo Gozzi presents a screening of Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato's 2003 film “Party Monster” plus a selection of VHS short films by Nelson Sullivan capturing life in the the late 80’s and early 90’s NYC Queer club scene.
STARRING Macaulay Culkin, Chloë Sevigny, Seth Green, Wilmer Valderrama, Natasha Lyonne, and Wilson Cruz. “Party Monster” is set in the New York club scene of the late 1980's through the 1990's, a tale which is based on the rise and fall of club-kid promoter Michael Alig, a party organiser, whose extravagant life was sent spiralling downward when he boasted on television that he had killed his friend, roommate, and drug dealer, Angel Melendez. Originally from Indiana, Alig moved to New York, and came to be an underground legend, known for his excessive drug use and outrageous behaviour in the club world.
Feel free to join us at this screening from 6:30PM for drinks at the bar, the film will play from 7PM in the basement. Tickets for this screening are £3 suggested donation.
