BLEDIBRUK - What’s better than one queer club night? TWO queer club nights!
Queer SWANA* event Bledi and Queer Afro-Caribbean event Queer Bruk are teaming up this June on a unique fusion night - blending SWANA* tracks with the sounds of Africa and the Caribbean 💗 Join us as we bring together trailblazing DJs in their own right in one space for one unmissable night! (*SWANA = South West Asia/North Africa - commonly referred to as 'the Middle East').
Non-QTIBPOC allies are welcomed and encouraged to pay for the higher entry fee. Reminder that this is a space prioritising QTIBPOC, be aware of the space you are taking. We will be allocating a number of tickets for people who are low income (priority will be given to refugees and people who are seeking asylum), please email akeilonwukwe@hotmail.com to arrange this. There will be photographers at the event taking consented footage and photographs, but consent can be withdrawn at any time for any images/videos on social media (just send us a DM/email).
Bledi is The Queer SWANA Art Space, a dedicated collective and night out centring QTIBPOC (Queer, Trans/Non-Binary, and/or Intersex, Black people and People of Colour) from the SWANA region (South West Asia/North Africa - commonly referred to as 'the Middle East'). Bledi (Arabic for ‘My Homeland’) has created a space for SWANA Queers to celebrate our lives and showcase our talents, as underrepresented artists of typically marginalised backgrounds.
Queer Bruk is a club night and platform that aims to bridge the gap between queer nightlife and Afro-Caribbean music. We want to create safe spaces for black and brown queer people to celebrate the music a lot of us grew up listening to.
We are a brand made BY us made FOR us.
