✨🔮Creatives Club provides workshops for creatives. Our aim is to foster community, nurture creativity, and provide project support.
👬 👩🏽 Make connections with fellow creatives and gain tools to bring your dream project to life.
🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️We are curating a warm, non-judgemental, inclusive space, where queer, neurodivergent, and disabled creatives are particularly welcome.
You have the talent - we’re here to help you develop your ideas and make your vision come true.
This is our introductory event focused on Creative Purpose & Vision.
After this, our intention is to launch a more comprehensive series of workshops providing a strong framework for creatives to work on their projects, as well as the opportunity for their work to be shared on our social media platform.
What kind of creatives is this for?
ANYONE. You’re welcome whether you’ve never created anything, or if you’ve done it loads. This isn’t about experience. It’s about the desire to express yourself, to create, and to connect with others.
You can be working on ANY type of art or project. Writing, poetry, illustration, launching an event, a social media page or a website, cabaret, music, zine making, painting, knitting, novel writing, screenwriting, designing, DJ-ing, sewing, photography…
What happens at this workshop?
The theme for this workshop is PURPOSE AND VISION.
You can expect:
- Social time with fellow creatives.
- Curated activities and exercises on the topic of connecting or reconnecting with your creative purpose. That means looking at what you want to create and why, as well as providing tools to develop your vision, ultimately allowing you to gain more confidence and forward momentum.
- Connection time in break-out groups and as a wider group.
- (Optional) Forward planning.
While there might be some exercises where you’ll get an opportunity to work on your project in earnest, this isn’t the main focus of the workshops.
We want to empower you to step into your identity as a creative so you feel confident making your vision a reality.
What do I get out of the Creatives Club workshops?
The main focus of our workshops is to provide the tools YOU need, individually, to bring your project to life. The below gives you a flavour of what we'd like to help with in future workshops:
- Defining and refining your creative purpose
- Getting inspired
- Connecting with your instincts
- Designing your creative plan in a way that supports YOU
- Setting and managing goals
- Starting or finishing your project
- Building confidence and resilience
- Developing friendships with fellow creatives
Ethos & Agreements
- You have the talent - we’re here to help you develop your ideas and bring your vision to life.
- Rather than a space designed to deliver or receive editorial feedback, this is an event where creatives can get nurturing support to make their project happen. It’s about trusting your instincts!
- This is an unapologetically inclusive space where we want to cultivate acceptance and vulnerability. We have a zero tolerance policy for any form of discrimination or harassment, including racism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, ableism or ageism.
- We’re fostering a warm, friendly, relaxed environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing and being vulnerable. Community is built out of mutual care. We want to encourage you to practice active listening, and to be gentle and supportive when discussing the experiences of others.
- This is a confidential space. Anything shared by others during our events, whether personal or creative, is private, and should not be shared with anyone else without prior consent.
Event Organiser
Hi there, my name is Laurie and I'm the founder of Creatives Club. I love empowering creatives to tell stories and have made a career out of it. I have fifteen years of experience in TV drama & comedy development as well as story producing.
I get things done - with curiosity, kindness, and passion.
As a neurodivergent, queer woman with c-ptsd, I feel incredibly strongly about making space for the authenticity of people's lived experiences and emotions. I also run a social called Big Feelings Club, aimed at building community and fostering vulnerability in ENM communities.
Most recently, I have expanded into creative coaching, and working with people who are keen to make their project a reality and would like support in bringing their vision to life.
Our venue - The London Night Cafe
Our events are held at the fabulous London Night Cafe near Liverpool Street. It’s the BEST place to get cosy and inspired.
It’s got soft seating, comfy vibes, fairy lights, and even a mini ball pit. The venue offers free, unlimited caffeinated and decaff hot drinks (teas, coffees, dairy free milk) and complimentary biscuits (inc GF).
Venue accessibility:
- There are two floors in the venue: ground floor and basement.
- There is a low step between the street and ground floor. The toilet is on the ground floor, but not specifically accessible.
- There are steep steps leading to the basement floor.
