Walking Trees and Bait have come together to explore the queer ecology of Hastings to honour this May Day and Jack in the Green.
In this walking workshop we will explore queerness in the more-than-human world around Hastings. Playing with sound, movement and action we will explore our environment by slipping into our animal skins and breathing through leaves. We'll ask how, by playing with becoming more than human, can we create new cross-species communities? In this carnivalesque workshop, we will turn our day-to-day lives on their head as we welcome in the spring by using artistic and performance practices to dig into the layers of ecology around us and experience it from different perspectives.
Contamination, Community, Connection
Come along to explore and open, move, ponder, reinvigorate and reflect as a group - above all else, this is a lovely way to meet new people, try something NEW and be outside moving and learning about ecology through creative engagement! Art materials, drinks, snacks and lovely beach fire to gather around at the end will all be provided.
Our events are queer-positive spaces and are open to all aged 18+. No previous art-making experience needed, just an experimental hat and a willing heart.
Please contact us to let us know if you have any access needs and we will try our best to accommodate.
Please reach out if you are experiencing financial challenges with affording a ticket.
