"I think the most important thing a woman can have -next to talent, of course- is her hairdresser" Joan Crawford AKA The ultimate Movie Star.
Before she was immortalised by Faye Dunaway's portrayal of a camptastic, wire hanger hating lunatic. Joan Crawford was the Queen of Hollywood, and in April, Women & Cocaine celebrates the tough talking and stoic Hollywood Royal with a screening of her vengeful classic PAID from 1930.
PAID is Crawford at her savage, pre code best. She stars in this gritty drama as Mary Turner, a woman accused by her boss of stealing and jailed for a crime she didn't commit, and after 3 long years in prison she's released, and seeking revenge on those that put her away.
Women & Cocaine Presents is a new film night at the Cinema Museum to celebrate the Fierce and Liberated women of Pre code cinema.
"My father warned me about men & booze, but he never mentioned a word about Women & Cocaine" Tallulah Bankhead
