We will be starting off the afternoon with a cyanotype workshop and a drop-in dandelion gardening session. Later, we will be serving delicious dinner and chilling around the bonfire.
Please join the collaborative LION playlist here and pop in your favourite tunes that we can all enjoy in the evening!
Plans:
Cyanotype Workshop 17:00-19:00
Join us for a hands-on cyanotype workshop facilitated by Tasnim Hahdy exploring memory, nature, and community. Using foraged flowers and found objects from the garden, we’ll create cyanotypes on treated cotton fabric—capturing imprints of the land and its stories. Cyanotypes are more than images; they are living archives, holding traces of ancestors, ghosts of memory, and the quiet presence of place. All materials provided, no experience needed.
***This workshop has a capacity of 10 people, first come first serve, so make sur you arrive on time to secure a spot***
Dandelion Drop In 17:00-19:00
Get your hands into some soil as we are seed-sowing and nurturing our little plants. If you haven't had a chance to come by glengall before, this is a good chance to get to know our little land project a little better - and if you're lucky, take home some delicious freshly harvested salads!
Dinner from 19:00 - Come hungry for delicious curries prepared by our Sumayyah's mum!
Tickets are pay what you can with ticket sales going towards covering the cost of the event and LION's Land Pot. If cost is a barrier to you attending, email jamila@landinournames for a free ticket. Note: This is a BPOC only event.
Unfortunately, we do not have exclusive access over the sauna on the 16th, so it is worth noting that there will be sauna attendees in Glengall garden, this means there will be white folks in the sauna area. You are welcome to book tickets for the sauna, but it is happening separately from our event.
Tasnim Mahdy
Tasnim Mahdy is a multidisciplinary artist, facilitator, and production designer based in London. Rooted in community collaboration and storytelling, their work spans cyanotype printing, mural-making, and immersive installations. Drawing on nature, mythology, and memory, Tasnim uses foraged materials, experimental processes, and participatory workshops to explore how histories are held, lost, and recovered. Their cyanotypes function as living archives—markings of place, echoes of ancestors, and collective traces. Tasnim has worked with organizations such as Counterpoints Arts, Artichoke Trust, Southbank Centre, Amnesty International, and Glastonbury Festival, creating spaces for shared learning, creative expression, and healing through art—particularly within migrant and marginalized communities.
Land In Our Names is a grassroots collective of Black and People of Colour getting land through reparations. Our collective is based in London, Britain, and works to reconnect Black and People of Colour to land, both in the city and in the countryside. Our work addresses the inequalities in access to land and food, and reimagines land stewardship towards climate and racial justice. We are organising toward collective ownership and land stewardship by Black and People of Colour, to heal the colonial-rooted trauma that has separated us and continues to extract from the land.
