We have been running creative writing workshops since March 2024; this is our 6th Series. They are hybrid events, mixing live participation with Zoom. THIS IS THE BOOKING FORM FOR LIVE PARTICIPATION. THERE IS ANOTHER FORM FOR ZOOM PARTICIPATION.
Events are FREE.
The workshops are for new/inexperienced/out-of-practice LGBT+ writers [plus allies, of course]. We aim to:
a] stimulate ideas and imagination through games, exercises and discussion;
b] refine your techniques and abilities through regular writing assignments and constructive criticism by the group;
c] provide a safe space where you can experiment without fear of being belittled;
d] help you to help us create an anthology of flash fiction, to be published when we've raised the money;
e] have FUN!!
We concentrate on short fiction, or Flash Fiction, which is the best way to encourage creativity and is not so demanding as long stories or novels.
The venue, The Kings Arms, Poland Street, is one of the oldest surviving Queer pubs in the West End. Conveniently near Tottenham Court Road Underground, it offers a spacious upstairs room and very helpful and friendly staff. Stay and have a drink afterwards. Make new friends.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not the place to learn to speak or write English. We can help you improve, but you will need basic English writing skills.
Attendance here does not constitute proof of sexuality.
