The Edinburgh Samba School, are proud to have been a regular feature at Porty Pride - you can see the band play this year at the end of Saturday’s dog walk on the prom.
On Sunday, from 12.30 to 2.30, it’s over to you to make some noise with us!
We’ll introduce you to some of the rhythms of the Brazilian carnival drumming tradition, with its range of instruments, and by the end of the workshop, we’ll be playing together as a community of music makers, whether you’ve drummed before or are a first time player.
Samba and carnival percussion is a way of joyfully taking up space, and this workshop is for LGBTQIA+ community and allies, aged 16+.
There is a mix of free tickets, pay-what-you-can, and supporter tickets. All donations cover running costs, and any surplus will go back into supporting TESS’ and Porty Pride’s work.
Please note this is a ticketed event and is restricted to 30 people.
