Amateur Power's debut event is a HUGE line-up of some of the UK's best in unsigned and DIY emo, pop punk, and indie. This is simply a showcase of bands you're about to see blow up!
Following stacked tours with the likes of Macseal and Microwave, Sheffield heavyweights 'JETSKI' headline, bringing their energetic blend of US pop punk and emo to Birmingham for their first headline set in this great city. After an exciting comeback and huge new single ‘Sweet Pea’, we have Safeguard representing the north, and SUDS representing the south off the back of tours with Dikembe, Pool Kids, and many more!
Really Big Really Clever (formed by two thirds of Gender Roles) join us as part of their new album release tour, as well as Brutalligators for a rare Midlands appearance while we patiently await their next album too. The Losing Score return to Brum following long awaited new music, with their good friends Pale Sailor joining the line-up as their first ever show in Birmingham! With fantastic local bands Trust Club and Luxury Nan Smell representing the great new music coming out of the West Mids scene, it's going to be a day full of non-stop bangers.
Doors at 3pm with music shortly following. With regular breaks between bands, there will be plenty of chances to take a breather for a drink upstairs, a chill in the beer garden, or even a bite from the The Flapper's in-house kitchen which is always having new guests in to provide a banging selection of food (vegan included).
The Flapper is situated a short walk from the Utilita Arena and Symphony Hall, with plenty of amenities in Brindley Place as well as multi-storey car parks either side. For those of you joining us by train, the venue is just a 15-minute walk from New Street Station, and we will aim to finish music by 10:30pm to allow people to catch last trains home (11pm curfew). Although the venue is accessed by stairs, please get in touch if you have any accessibility needs. Contact theflapperbirmingham@gmail.com or brodie@htmfpresents.com for more information. The venue is cashless and you will need ID for entry as the event is 18+
A no questions asked pay-what-you-want option is available for those who may be struggling to afford the £15 entry fee, or even those who wish to pay it forward (this will go towards paying the bands, venue, staff, etc). No one will be turned away due to lack of funds, however we do have a capacity and if we reach that with the event selling out, we won't be able to allow entry. Please contact brodie@htmfpresents.com if you have any questions, or DM @AmateurPowerRecs on Instagram. Thanks!
