About the charity screening-
At the heart of Kibera—one of Africa’s largest informal settlements—is a place of love, safety, and second chances: Kibera Pride Children’s Home. The home is run by Kibera Pride Initiative, a community-based, child protection organization founded by Irene Kasandi, a social worker who grew up in Kibera and turned her lived experiences into a lifelong mission to serve others.
This event is a charity screening to support Kibera Pride Children’s Home, an orphanage in Kenya, that is currently recovering from an arson attack that destroyed key areas of the home, including dormitories and essential supplies. The orphanage has 58 children in its full-time care—children who have been orphaned, abandoned, or rescued from abuse or neglect. These children rely on Kibera Pride not only for shelter and food, but for education, counseling, mentorship, art programs, and a stable home where they are loved and protected.
All ticket proceeds support Kibera Pride Children’s Home.
