Reflect on your journey and create maps of belonging through nature and art, culminating in a collective sanctuary celebrating queer resilience and connection.
'Mapping Our Roots' is a creative workshop exploring the intersections of queer migration, resilience, and the natural world. We will reflect on our migration journeys—geographical, emotional, and identity-based—through personal storytelling and art-making. Using natural materials, we’ll create individual maps that express our stories and a collaborative sanctuary installation symbolising collective belonging. Inspired by the adaptability and sanctuary found in nature, this workshop offers a space for reflection, creativity, and community building. No artistic experience is necessary—just a willingness to explore your story and connect with others.
participants are encouraged to bring any natural materials that have significance for them e.g. dried fruit, herb etc. to the workshop!
