We built a toilet, now we’re throwing a party about it!
LOO & BEHOLD is a special edition of our beloved Common Press After Hours, and this time we're getting delightfully down and dirty with the queer politics of toilets.
To celebrate the grand unveiling of our brand new accessible loo, we’re bringing you an evening of radical conversation, reflection, and fun. We’ve invited an amazing panel of thinkers, activists, and troublemakers to explore everything from pee panic to public protest.
We'll be covering:
🧻 Trans rights and access under threat
🍆 The steamy history of cruising and resistance in the stalls
🕳️ Loos as liminal spaces / both refuge and battleground
👁️🗨️ Surveillance, spatial justice, and who’s watching you pee
Then, once the deep thoughts are done, the party begins:
🎶 Setting the mood for the night is SCARBA our resident DJ, dancing, drinks, and good old-fashioned lavatorial liberation…

Whether you come for the conversation or just to christen the new cubicle, everyone’s welcome at the party! 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
