🌱 The Sanura Learning Journey
We’ve designed a clear path so you always know where you are — and where you’re heading!
🌱 Foundations
- Beginner 1 — Basics in both roles: timing, rhythm, basic step, right/left turns, and connection.
- Beginner 2 — Expanding basics: cross-body lead, and basic shines.
- Beginner 3 — Combining patterns, smoother role transitions, musical awareness.
🌿 Development
- Advanced Beginner 1 — Variations on cross-body lead, inside/outside turns, balance in both roles.
- Advanced Beginner 2 — Multi-turns, simple shines, smoother transitions.
- Advanced Beginner 3 — Partnerwork flow, dancing whole songs, role fluidity practice.
🌸 Growth (early intermediate)
- Intermediate 1 — Complex turn patterns, shines that match the music, leading & following clarity.
- Intermediate 2 — Incorporating styling (arms, body movement) while keeping timing & connection.
- Intermediate 3 — Role-switch within the dance, musical interpretation, and confidence in dancing socially.
🌺 Expression (upper intermediate / pre-advanced)
- High Intermediate 1 — Faster tempo work, syncopation, more intricate shines.
- High Intermediate 2 — Smooth role transitions mid-song, advanced partnerwork techniques.
- High Intermediate 3 — Musicality & expression: playing with breaks, accents, body movement.

- Advanced 1 — Complex musical interpretation, advanced shines & body movement integration.
- Advanced 2 — High-level social dancing: improvisation, creativity, seamless role-switch.
- Advanced 3 — Performance-ready dancing: stage presence, choreo adaptability, speed mastery.
