- Lean the basics of repairing your own clothing, what fabric needs what repairs, how to do simple fixes, etc.
- Explore visible mending techniques
- Learn to mend your own damaged clothing item (bring one to mend with guidance or just practice mends on our scraps and take your skills home!)
Led by The Red Studio, a London based seamstress, costume designer and alterations studio, who's founder (and our incredible teacher for the day) has an amazing portfolio of work that you may have seen at The Royal Opera House, on Vivienne Westwood runways, in Saville Row windows or in historical films costumed by Angels.
Facilitated by The Grey Zine, an independent political fashion publication based in London, as part of their London Fashion Week series; making fashion feel more accessible and empowering for Londoners who like to do more than just conform.

Due to the nature of hosting on a canal boat, our venue moves! We will email you the exact location prior to your workshop, but it will be in East London on the canal. Unfortunately this also means the space is relatively inaccessible, you need to climb onto the boat, and duck into the space on entry, so please bear this in mind when booking tickets, and let us know any accessibility needs as soon as you can.
