Life drawing at Triangle with Gianluca Floris
12th, 19th and 26th September / 7pm - 9pm / Bar 7pm - 10pm
YOU ARE BOOKING FOR ALL THREE SESSIONS
You will be provided with a drawing board, clips and paper. Please bring your own pencils, charcoal etc.
You know that feeling when you're drawing and suddenly you look down at your phone and realise an hour's gone by?
That quiet focus where you're just looking, really looking, at another person? That's what these evenings are about. The running theme of these sessions is “Play”.
No fancy techniques to master. No "right way" to draw. Just a good playlist in the background, interesting people to sketch, and that rare chance to slow down for a couple hours.
Here's how it works:
We start with quick poses. 2/3 minutes, some exercises to make the hands soft and the pencils flow. It's not about getting it "right”. It's about shaking off that voice in your head that says you can't draw. Then we'll settle into longer poses where you can get detailed or keep it loose. Before the break the sessions are going to be loosely tutored and then I let you fly free, but if you need me I am always there.
I'll have some pencils and paper if you need them. I might point out cool anatomy stuff if you're into that. But mostly? It's about giving yourself permission to make marks on paper without judging them.
The models:
Real people. Different shapes, sizes, ages. Because bodies are fascinating.
You should come if:
- You miss that childhood feeling of drawing just for fun
- You're curious about anatomy but hate stuffy art classes
- You want to do something with your hands that isn't scrolling
- You think life drawing sounds intimidating but secretly want to try it
I'm Gian. I went to art school where I learned to draw "properly", but what I really love is helping people rediscover the simple joy of putting pencil to paper. When I'm not doing these sessions, I'm usually drawing somewhere else.
No experience needed. Seriously.
It's okay if your drawings look "bad". Mine sometimes do too. What matters is showing up, looking closely, and enjoying the process.
