Join South London FRFI for a day of revolutionary cinema and political discussion. These films lay bare the racist, imperialist nature of the British state and celebrate the struggles of oppressed and working class communities.

Steve McQueen’s powerful film on the 1981 New Cross fire and the uprisings that followed.
1.45 PM : Defiance
Britain’s Asian communities fight back against racism in the late 70s and 80s, from Southall to the Bradford 12.
3.00 PM: Blacks Britannica
A banned 1978 documentary exposing Britain’s racist institutions, police, housing, education, and the resilience of Black communities resisting oppression.
4.00 PM: Discussion

5.30 PM: Judas and the Black Messiah
Earning six Oscar nominations, the film dramatises the FBI’s campaign to suppress the Black Panther Party through the coerced betrayal of leader Fred Hampton.
