First Thursday of the month, every month, at the Telegraph Hill Centre, SE14 5TY. 8.30-10pm.
A group talking & listening space for you to be heard and feel connected to other men. Support through community. Too often men feel they can only rely on women for emotional support, or hardly reach out for that support at all. This is a safe space to challenge this - and prove that men can provide invaluable support and community to one another.
It is also a group to foster healthy discussions on masculinity and the limitations we put on ourselves as men and how we can free ourselves from some of these restrictions to show up in the world as the healthier, happier, more authentic version of ourselves.
“Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains” - Jean Jacques Rousseau
Facilitated by medical doctor, mental health researcher and trainee-therapist Dr Henry Aughterson, MBBS iBSc PhD. @doctor_mentalhealth
Open and friendly towards all sexualities, ethnicities, ages, hair colours, favourite sports team, shoe size - you name it, all welcome :)
Queer friendly 🏳️🌈 and feminist (i.e. simply believing we should all have equal rights+opportunities). This is about supporting one another, not being anti-anything or anyone else ❤️ Similarly this is about celebrating, rather than demonising, healthy forms of masculinity.
Leave each session with:
- a sense that you're not alone
- feeling heard and understood
- a sense of social connection
- an ongoing community
- reflections on masculinity
