Our last few parties have been lots of fun, and this year's been a brilliant one for us – booking people we love from the local area and both the wider UK and internationally, building a great following of lovely people, being featured in print in DJ Mag, and our residents picking up bookings in the UK and abroad. We’re still all about the tiny rave cave, the family ethos and the banging tunes.
This August we bring you the latest instalment of one of the finest underground techno nights in the UK - expect an awesome range of quality techno, an intimate and inclusive raving space and a friendly and up-for-it crowd. It's also our pre-Pride rave (Chester Pride happens the following day and a chunk of ticket sales will go towards supporting Pride, and collection buckets will be on the bar on the night.) :)
This time, along with our usual lineup of quality residents and guests, we bring you two DJs who we've seen a good few times at the absolutely fab Meat Free in Manchester - where they continue to co-create epic lineups of the most uncompromising techno with a brilliant ethos and vibe.
BLASHA & ALLATT
[ Meat Free - Manchester ]
Blasha & Allatt are co-founders and residents at Meat Free, hailed as one of Manchester’s best techno nights and nominated for best UK club night in 2017.
Through sets at their own parties, they regularly impressed the artists they booked, with Ben Sims in particular championing them outside of Manchester by inviting them to play at his Machine parties and consequently its Boiler Room session in 2016. In early 2018, they caught the eye of Resident Advisor, who invited Meat Free to co-host the Manchester leg of their Alternate Cuts series, with B&A providing a mix to coincide with the party.
The last few years have seen bookings take off – 2018 saw them gaining a nomination in the DJ Mag ‘Best Resident DJ’ category as well as gigs at Fabric, Dockyards Festival (ADE) , Shelter & No Bounds festival. Their debut track 'Broughton 93' featured on Machine's 'Tribology' compilation which saw them share label space with Function, Truncate & Psyk. 2019 has seen them play or have upcoming gigs booked across the UK and Europe at iconic venues such as the Sub Club, Corsica Studios and WHP, as well as Tresor, ://aboutblank and Salon Zur Wilden Renate in Berlin and festival dates all over the UK and abroad.
Their full diary is testament to the quality selections and belting mixing skills that we’ve raved to on numerous occasions – you’re all in for a treat J

ARONDEUS
[ Nexus / Techno.fm ]
Disco-infused warehouse rave. Occasional drum machine and synth hybrid set stuff. You might hear: wonky stuff / vogue samples / acid lines / big kicks. You probably won't hear: Drumcode / Ibiza techno.

JACKI-E
[ Draw The Line / A Darker Wave / DeepDownDirty ]
Jacki-e is a DJ / Producer from Northamptonshire in the UK. With her partner, P-mac, she has her own weekly radio show, A Darker Wave, in which she plays the best in new underground techno and deep house. She has recently started a second show, Draw The Line Radio Show, which features the amazing music being made by women DJs and Producers. It's showing that the overwhelming male bias in festival and club line ups and in set track lists is totally unnecessary.
She has played DJ sets in clubs in Germany, the Midlands, the South Coast, London and she also produces her own original tracks and remixes. Her latest single, “Marionette,' a collaboration with American DJ / Producer Eric Louis, is released by Get Physical Music.
Jacki-e's influences are the techno, deep house, jungle, dnb and the ethos of the acid house raves and festivals of the early 90's. If you listen carefully you can hear the underlying stories which have influenced her in her preference for the darker edge of electronic dance music.

LOSS FUNCTION
[ Nexus / Techno.fm ]
Nexus resident, promoter, usual voice of our show on techno.fm and provider of quality techno to dancefloors in the UK and abroad. Always causes dancing to happen.

SH13
[ Welsh Connektion / wAliens / FNOOB ]
The dark techno / industrial pseudonym of Sted Hellvis (dirty warehouse / squat techno); equally tough in outlook and attitude, SH13 is the outlet for the mayhem pitching in around 135-140bpm. SH13’s sets focus on an industrial edge, with monstrous kick drums, twisted distortion and dirty sonics. Sometimes described as brutal, it’s hard edged without a doubt but doesn’t lose the focus of the dancefloor.

NEXUS HOUSE RULES:
* Be excellent to each other:
We’re very happy that you’ve chosen to rave with us: look after yourself and each other. If you or someone needs help see a party organiser, text us (number available on the night) or find a member of the venue staff. “Ask for Angela” if you need immediate assistance or someone is making you feel uncomfortable.
* Everyone is welcome:
Nexus is an inclusive night - and everyone should be able to party with us and feel comfortable, regardless of age, gender identification, sexuality, ethnicity, style or any other trait. If you feel like you are being made to feel unwelcome, or you witness behaviour that is discriminatory, please let a member of the venue staff or the party promoters know.
* No photos / video on the dancefloor please:
Have a dance and talk to people and stuff. There’s people here that might not want to be in your snaps, and videos always turn out rubbish anyway. Some of the best parties we’ve been to have this guideline and it really works. Trust us and try it out
* Don’t be a pain:
Our venue is great and the staff are brilliant. If you do illegal things you are risking their licence and jobs – so if we see you taking drugs or being an arse to other people we will ask you to leave.
