It's #LGBTQ+STEMDay - Hear Us Roar!
Come celebrate the International Day of LGBTQIA+ People in STEM 2025 with our a special free event at ZSL Institute of Zoology, next to London Zoo.
Bring your pride, pack, and gaggle of queers along to learn more about LGBTQ+ perspectives and people - from albatrosses to zebra finches via the work of humans to understand the queerness of the natural world!
This year, we host an exciting talk series between 5.30-7, including not-to-be-missed LGBTQ+ speakers, members of the ZSL LGBTQ+ Network, and the winners of the Pride in STEM Small Grants 2025.
The event will start with a panel on Queer ecologies featuring Science writer, editor and author Josh Davis, PhD-ing Queer{ing} Ecologist, Poet, Marine Biologist, Jazmeen Qureshi, and ZSL Team Leader Josh Pope. It will be chaired by Pride in STEM trustee Dr Eleanor Armstrong.
There will be a series of lightning talks showcasing the work that the Pride in STEM Small Grant 2025 winners intend to do, as well as the incredible work done at London Zoo. Pride in STEM will also announce some pretty exciting plans for 2026.
Following this, from 7.30 Pride in STEM will host a social at trans-owned, Camden icon bar: Zodiac Bar (https://www.zodiacbarlondon.com/)
We look forward to celebrating together on 18th November 2025 at ZSL!
