As part of our Stonewall in Vauxhall celebrations, Eagle:VHS presents Jennie Livingston's landmark 1991 documentary 'Paris Is Burning'. Filmed in the mid to late 1980s, the film explores the drag ball culture of New York City, focusing on the Black and Latino LGBT community. The film rotates between footage of the ball and interviews with members of the ball community: Pepper LaBeija, Dorian Corey, Angie Xtravanganze and Willi Ninja. Paris is Burning has become known as an incredibly meaningful film; due to the ways Livingston articulates ideas regarding sexual identity, homophobia and racism.
We're opening from 6pm, with the film starting at 8pm.
Free entry all night.
