Palacio de Poetas (@palaciodepoetas)
A night of spoken word, poetry, and live music - ALL IN SPANISH!
Palacio de Poetas is a platform that empowers Spanish-speaking poets to amplify their voices, connect with audiences and inspire through the transformative power of poetry.
We champion emerging talent by giving them the stages and resources to thrive. We grow inclusive artistic communities in spaces in London & beyond where artists can connect, engage and celebrate this art form in Spanish and Spanglish.
We aim to elevate spoken word to new platforms, expand into interdisciplinary collaborations, and help artists gain visibility and recognition for their work. Our events are designed to inspire connection, spark creativity, and support wellbeing.
We also believe in the power of multidisciplinary and experimental work - we put together musicians and poets on stage to improvise and co-create in front of an audience in a night full of verses, rhymes and melodies.
Since 2023, we have taken venues from South East to South West London, and now we are pleased to share with audiences in East London at the Common Press Bookshop! The night will include a welcome activity for the audience, an open mic for poets, spoken word and rap artists performing in Spanish and a special section with guest artists.
Note: The event normally is hosted solely in Spanish, but this time it will be hosted in English and Spanish, so everyone feels welcomed and included.
🟡 RUNNING TIMES

Ana María Reyes Barrios

Ana María Reyes Barrios (Caracas, Venezuela, 1983) She was born in the 80s in the heart of tropical chaos. The daughter of filmmakers and social activists, she grew up among books, old movie cans and combative songs that from a very young age led her to understand that poetry was her way of relating to the world. With an avid and passionate imagination, she liked to tell epic stories and incredible adventures since she was a child. As an adult, after having studied arts and documentary film and having lived in different cities around the world, she became a traveler and a nomad, finding in freedom the purest source of inspiration. Since then, she collects stories and tales that she writes in the form of narrative and poetry. She practices writing and creation as anarchic rituals that keep her alive and bring her closer to the other inhabitants of this land. She has published Sombras de la sal with the publishing house Equidistancias (London-Buenos Aires) and her poetry has also appeared in various poetic anthologies both in Venezuela and in the United Kingdom.
