The UK Black Pride Bristol Community Roundtable Gathering has been created to centre and uplift LGBTQIA+ Black people and People of Colour. Join the UK Black Pride team along with Myles-Jay Linton from Kiki Bristol, Darnell from Nassty City and Bristol Ballroom Community, Maya Ishku from Bristol QPOC Socials and Lisa Inneh from dirt collective on 18 November from 18:30–20:00 online. (video link will be sent after booking).
This impactful gathering for us and by us will bring together community leaders, activists and organisations for an evening of strategic planning and community-building discussions to help shape the future of our LGBTQIA+ Black communities and People of Colour.
This event forms part of UK Black Pride’s We Will Be Heard campaign, proudly supported by NYX Professional Makeup and Stonewall.
Expect insightful panel conversations and open dialogue. Panel discussion will be moderated by Lady Phyll, CEO and Co-Founder of UK Black Pride and hosted by Aisha Shaibu-Lenoir, Head of UK Black Pride Community Engagement.
Lady Phyll (CEO and co-founder of UK Black Pride)

Lady Phyll (Phyll Opoku-Gyimah) is the co-founder and CEO of UK Black Pride and a leading voice for LGBTQ+ and racial justice. She has championed intersectional equality through trade union activism, her role as executive director of the Kaleidoscope Trust, and global LGBTQ+ advocacy. Under her visionary leadership, UK Black Pride has become the world’s largest celebration for queer Black people and people of colour, creating vital spaces for visibility, joy, and community.
Myles-Jay Linton (Kiki Bristol)

Myles is a psychologist, artist and community organiser. Between 2018 and 2024, Myles was a core organiser of Kiki Bristol, a group championing, celebrating and centring Queer, Transgender, and Intersex People of Colour across the city.
Maya Ishku (Bristol QPOC Socials)

Maya Ishku is a community organiser who created Bristol QPOC Socials in January 2023. She is a Bangladeshi trans woman with the hopes to make a positive change in the community in Bristol. Bristol QPOC Socials aims to create spaces and community for queer people of colour living in Bristol. Bristol QPOC Socials run events on every first and third Wednesday of the month, with fun activities such as pub quizzes, doodle sheets, and board game nights.
Darnell (AKA Maze Louboutin is the UK Princess of the Legendary Luxurious kiki house of louboutin) and founder of NasstyCity

Darnell (AKA Maze Louboutin is the UK Princess of the Legendary Luxurious kiki house of louboutin) he currently is one of the youngest leaders in the Uk ballroom scene. She’s known for Drags performance within the Uk Ballroom Scene and has been contributing to the scene for over 4 years.
Darnell is also the owner of NasstyCity which is a new club night to hit Bristol which creates a space for trans and queer people of colour which is currently hosted at The Exchange. Playing all Caribbean and Afro music from Dancehall, Amapiano, Afrobeats, Gqom Gqom, soca and so much more. Darnell is also a DJ and has been playing for a year and half across the UK. Playing in venues in Manchester and in London and about to go international. Darnell is completely community driven and has grown up within the bristol creative scene since he was born.
Lisa Inneh (founder of d.irt.collective)

Lisa Inneh is a filmmaker and a creative through and through. They founded d.irt.collective, a collective that supports queer creatives in Bristol by running workshops, fundraisers and networking events. Alongside their team they have raised hundreds for those in need. Lisa is a regular guest on "Show Me The Gays" an independent platform for LGBTQ+ voices where they have spoken about the lack of diversity in Bristol's nightlife and the barriers that QPOC creatives face in the industry. Lisa has been featured in Bristol 24/7, as well as writing an article for the magazine titled "Underexposed: The missing reels of QPOC filmmakers". They have a specialist interest in the intersectionality that comes with being a QPOC and decolonisation. They have been working alongside local communities to foster positive EDI practices for several years.
Aisha Shaibu-Lenoir (Head of Community Engagement at UK Black Pride)

Aisha Shaibu‑Lenoir is a cultural producer, and social entrepreneur. She is Head of Community Engagement at UK Black Pride and she plays a vital role community building, social driven spaces and advocacy across the queer community. Beyond her work at UK Black Pride, Aisha founded Moonlight Experiences, a travel and nightlife organisation celebrating queer culture, and she is also the Director at The Common Press, a queer intersectional bookshop café in East London.
