For our Autumn Gathering this year we will be reflecting on the work we have been doing towards our Land Project. We are inviting you, our community, to share our vision and where we are so far!
In January 2019, a dream emerged under an apple tree for a Land Project in England, where Black and People of Colour communities could practice repair and rest with the land. This was seen as a critical strategy to repair the colonial-rooted trauma of our separation from the land and its ancestral wisdom. Since then, Land in Our Names has been developing our land strategy to turn those dreams into a concrete plan for land as a form of material reparations.
As LION focuses more intentionally on our aim of getting land, we would like to invite our community to hear about and contribute to some of our learnings and our roadmap. For us, this is an incredibly valuable opportunity to share some of the behind-the-scenes planning that we’ve been up to and to hear feedback from our community about how our plans can map onto your dreams.

This event will be open to all our supporters, BPOC and white accomplices/allies, including those who have funded our work so far. Nonetheless, we ask all our white allies to purchase a solidarity ticket which is priced slightly higher. We also want to prioritise beneficiaries of our work in attendance, so please be mindful when choosing to attend, consider what it would mean for you to be in this space and whose voices should be centred. All profits from this event will go directly to our Land Pot.
Land In Our Names is a grassroots collective of Black and People of Colour getting land through reparations. Our collective is based in London, Britain, and works to reconnect Black and People of Colour to land, both in the city and in the countryside. Our work addresses the inequalities in access to land and food, and reimagines land stewardship towards climate and racial justice. We are organising toward collective ownership and land stewardship by Black and People of Colour, to heal the colonial-rooted trauma that has separated us and continues to extract from the land.
