How it works
Bring along your leftover yarn, those impulse buys you never used, or anything you’ve fallen out of love with. (Label the fibre and weight if you can.) Patterns, notions and kits are welcome too.
Drop your items on the swap tables, grab a drink, and browse the colourful donations from other makers. Take what inspires you, leave what you can, and enjoy chatting with fellow yarniacs. No yarn to swap? You’re still welcome — something might spark your next project!
Feel free to bring a WIP to work on while the re/destashing unfolds, and drop in whenever suits you.
Giving Back
All ticket proceeds go to Dementia UK, supporting people living with dementia and their families. Any unclaimed materials will be donated to local schools and charities.
The yarn swap is being held at the newly opened The Catford House, a pub with social purpose which is run by GCDA, a local social enterprise with over 40 years’ experience creating community-led projects across south-east London.
This event is a collaboration with Destasher - a soon-to-launch online community helping sewists and yarn crafters connect, share leftover supplies, and reduce waste.
