Set in the very building where some of the novel’s most dramatic scenes unfold, this special event brings story and setting together in a way that feels deliberate, playful, and genuinely exciting. Tobie will introduce the book, host the evening, and sit down with Kestral for a conversation about queer storytelling, found family, and writing characters who don’t quite fit the world they’re in.
Expect a reading, a smart, funny, thoughtful conversation, audience Q&A, and time afterwards to mingle with fellow readers, creatives, and book lovers.
Tickets are free, but limited. If you love stories that mess gently with reality and hit you in the heart while doing it, this night is for you.
Book now and don’t miss it.
Kestral Gaian (They/Them) is a writer of fiction, theatre, and poetry, whose work explores systems, survival, and the strange beauty of being human. From young adult fiction to non-fiction essays, poetry to plays, screenplays to audio drama, their writing blends speculative imagination with emotional clarity — often asking what it means to stay human in systems that seem to forget what that means.
Tobie Donovan (He/Him) is best known for his portrayal of the loveable ‘Isaac’ in Netflix’s hugely successful series HEARTSTOPPER. He booked the show through an open casting call, standing out amongst thousands of young actors from around the UK. His stage work includes ‘Harry’ in PAPERCUT at the Park Theatre. Most recently, Tobie guest starred in the new series LYNLEY as ‘Ryan Kilfoyle’.
