The HallowQueen Ball
Halloween Party and Film screening of The Hunger (1983)
Electric Watermelon and We do Good Disco are back together again for Halloween, our favourite time of year for dressing up, glittering up and basically getting down and spooky!
Join us for the monthly LGBTQ night at The Fox and Firkin, South East London's finest venue, for a whole night of Halloween fun! Traditional Party Games, Tarot Readings, Best Halloween Outfit Competition, a performance by Drag Queen Cynthia Seaward to entertain you, and a super camp (and spooky!) Disco until 2am!. We also have a 50-seater attic cinema where we will be screening the 80's vampire classic The Hunger (1983) at 9pm.
You are here buying a ticket for the CINEMA and your ENTRY to the event!
If you don't know anything about The Hunger, well it's possibly the coolest vampire film ever made!
Miriam Blaylock collects Renaissance art, ancient Egyptian pendants, lovers and souls. Alive and fashionably chic in Manhattan, Miriam is an ageless, sophisticated French vampire. Debuting feature director Tony Scott stakes out a hip, sensual, modern-gothic makeover of the Vampire genre, and Catherine Deneuve radiates macabre elegance as Miriam, blessed with beauty and cursed with bloodlust. David Bowie (a Goth 80's dream!) is fellow fiend and refined husband John. In love, in life, in longing they are inseparable. But when John abruptly begins to age he turns to a young scientist (Susan Sarandon) for help. Miriam soon eyes the woman as her next partner and a replacement for John. The two become lovers and reign as Vampire Queens!
The Hunger is insatiable and fabulous, and a must-watch for Halloween. The trailer advertises The Hunger as “a modern classic of perverse fear,” and it remains one of the coolest and damn sexiest queer horror films ever made!
