Codpiece workshop with E.M. Parry and friends
Friday 13th March 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Bar open 7pm-11pm
Join artist and theatre designer E.M. Parry for this one-off workshop, exploring prosthetic and performative gender play. Learn more about the decadent and practical history of this now sadly neglected accessory, from Henry VIII to Jethro Tull via Tilda Swinton, find some inspiration , craft your very own codpiece with the help of glamorous assistants Linnea and K and, if you fancy, stay for a drink afterwards and show it off in the bar!
Materials provided, but feel free to bring any fabrics, decoration, etc, that you’d like to work with.
No crafting expertise required :)
Price: pay what you can, suggested donation of £5-10. No-one turned away for lack of funds, please contact us direct if you can’t pay.
Access info: the workshop area and bar are on the ground floor, flat throughout including entrance, with a wheelchair accessible toilet.
Thanks to Goldsmiths, and the Staging Decadence project for their support.
