MSJI Presents: ‘Refusing Pity’ Potluck – An Inclusive Iftar for Young People (18-30)
This Ramadan, join The Muslim Social Justice Initiative (MSJI) for a special inclusive iftar as we explore the theme of mutual aid and solidarity as part of our School of Community Power.
This potluck-style gathering invites you to bring a dish to share in community. Feel free to come dressed in clothes that remind you of home, whether traditional attire or something that makes you feel connected to where you belong.
This is a space to break fast together, share food and learning - open to all Muslim young people and non-Muslim friends and allies.
This iftar is an anti-racist, feminist and queer inclusive space.
We also invite you to donate £5 with your ticket for Bridge of Solidarity if you are able - a grassroots mutual aid group in Gaza.
📍 Contact Theatre, Oxford road, Manchester
📅 17:00, Saturday 28th February
Please note that MSJI's first priority is always to safeguard the wellbeing of staff, volunteers, and participants. With this in mind, MSJI reserves the right to refuse or refund tickets at its discretion. Any decision to do so is not made lightly and will only ever be on the basis of safeguarding.
