Enjoy a chill weekend afternoon tea with a creative group as we capture a set of cakes and tarts in watercolour, guided by Alison Hui at The People’s Letters Bookshop. Following her first workshop, which shared a taste of iconic Hong Kong food, Alison returns to bring the charm of colour and her own way of enjoying a relaxed afternoon tea.
Workshop content:
Alison will share her original sketches of various tea sets, tips for drawing food in a café, and some fun stories along the way.
Participants will learn a simple approach to painting a tea set in watercolour, featuring selected food models such as fruit tarts, cake, and a cup of tea.
Remarks:
Participants are welcome to bring along their own beloved mug as the model to draw with.
If you have your own preferred drawing tools, sketchbook etc. please also bring along with you.
Age range: 15+
Beginners are welcome.

About the facilitator:

Alison Hui is an illustrator, writer, and zine-maker with two published book titles Embrace the Uncertainties and Explore Hong Kong Taste. She also launched over ten self-published works, including All About Tofu, Meal for One and Cha Chaan Teng. Her illustrations and infographics have appeared in publications and exhibitions in Hong Kong, Japan, the US, and the UK. She explores the relationships between identity, cityscapes, and food.
