In February at Transmissions it's all VHS, all month.
In the warm embrace of Dalston Superstore's basement we'll be delivering you four tapes' worth of entertainment from the MTV era, hand-selected to make you feel like you're flipping channels late at night and feasting your eyes on the kind of sleazy, violent media and godless rock and roll the televangelist three channels back tried to warn you about.
February's third tape is the lo-fi concert film/documentary Nirvana: Live! Tonight! Sold Out!! (1994), which features performances of fifteen of the band's songs intercut with moments from interviews, and behind-the-scenes tour footage, capturing Kurt Cobain and his bandmates at the height of fame as they grapple with their discomfort over being labelled voices of a generation.
We'll be graced with an introduction from musician and PowerPoint chanteuse Heather Estradiol, which is only ever unmissable.
Find us down in the basement at Dalston Superstore where we'll have the volume cranked and a seat waiting for you.
Chew your meat for you, pass it back and forth
In a passionate kiss from my mouth to yours
