LACHLAN WERNER
Welcome to the world's first ventriloquial hypnotherapy session.
Lachlan Werner is the UK's favourite "zeitgeisty" (★★★★ Guardian) ventriloquist, clown and live artist. But he is also quite a lot of people in one brain. Over 26 years, a lot of people seem to have got lodged, jammed inside Lachlan.
Brew is a small squishy witch, and his best friend, and she believes she can extract, suck out and expel all of the other people living inside Lachlan to find out who he really is.
Lachlan will use genuine witchcraft to mine his no-longer developing brain for a new hour full of stupidly clever and cleverly stupid horrid ideas. Expect rotten characters, queerings of ancient traditions and literal skeletons in closets from "the funniest new ventriloquist on the block" (★★★★ Telegraph)
"The definitive queer puppet show" ★★★★★ LostInTheatreland
"A new star. Unimaginable hellish power" ★★★★ Chortle
KATE CHEKA
The Last Funny Woman WIP
Last year Kate attempted to save the world or as The Guardian put it... 'political comedy may yet have found its new messiah.' Now she thinks perhaps it is time to burn it all down. Everything is falling apart. What does it mean to be a woman (and a feminist) in the midst of an apocalypse? Expect stories about the farmer she could have married, an awards ceremony after party, appearing on BBC Radio 4 and Berlin STI tests interspersed with razor sharp political comedy on colonialism and the rise of fascism. ‘A skillful mix of raunchy, raconteurial energy and cutting social commentary, which seems to reflect the delicate modern balancing act of fighting the good fight whilst having a bloody good time before the whole thing goes up in flames’ (European Comedy Review)
Kate Cheka is an artist, stand-up comedian and writer who has performed in over ten countries across four continents. The 2023 Funny Women Award winner her debut sold out Edinburgh show received critical acclaim and went on to a Soho Theatre run. She was also nominated for the 2025 DIVA Magazine Queer comedian of the year award and the Chortle 2024 Best Newcomer award. As heard on The Guilty Feminist podcast, and Radio 4's The News Quiz and The Matt Forde Focus Group. Comedy with a unique blend of joy and disdain or as The Guardian said 'political comedy may yet have found its new messiah.'
