In a world that asks us to keep pushing, performing, and staying busy, rest can start to feel like something that has to be earned.
This is a space to pause.
To breathe.
To rest in community.
Permission to Rest is a gentle breath led session focused on slowing down and reconnecting to your breath. Together we’ll explore simple breathing techniques that help the body settle and release tension, before moving into guided rest.
No experience is needed.
You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
About the space
This event takes place in a queer venue and is prioritised for LGBTQIA+ people. Allies are welcome to attend with care and respect for the space.
A pay what you can option is available to help reduce barriers to attending. If you are able to pay the full price, this helps keep the space accessible for others. If not, you are welcome to pay what feels possible - no questions asked.
What to bring
Please wear warm, comfortable layers. When we slow down our breathing, body temperature can naturally drop.
Bring a mat if you have one, along with anything that helps you feel comfortable (a blanket, cushion, or extra layers). The session can be done seated or lying down.
A limited number of mats, cushions, and blankets will be available, but bringing your own if possible is encouraged.
Arrival
Doors open at 6:30pm. Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before the session begins.
We will start at 7pm, and doors will close at 7:05pm to avoid disturbing the session.
