Join us for a multi-celebratory journey at Tay Forest's Hermitage and Craigvinean Woods for our final Woodland Queers session. Not only will we be reflecting on and celebrating the success of our little WQ programme, but we'll be celebrating a whole 3 years of Queer by Nature!!
We have hired a bus to take us there so pick up will be from George Street, Edinburgh (exact location will be sent out ahead of the event). Please get to the pick up point by 9:50am so there is time to sign in, we will leave at 10am sharp, drop off will be at the same place at 5pm. Space is limited so registration is required!
You can also register to meet us there and we will directly contact these folks with the relevant meeting location and time.
Our session journey will begin by making a little forest creature out of clay. We'll then take a gentle journey with our creatures, visiting Black Linn Falls, Torryvald Folly and magnificent Douglas Firs. We'll stop in different spots along the way to experience the environment through the senses of our little creature.
On our descent from (hopefully) spectacular views over the River Tay, we will capture the Tay Forest in a jar, making a natural home for our forest being to take home with us so please bring a clean glass jar or Tupperware container with you!
The route will be about 3.5km with wide, firm gravel path with narrow rocky sections. There may be some short, fairly steep slopes so please be mindful of this in your preparation. We, of course, will take it gently and easy and stop as much as we need to catch our breath! This event is not wheelchair accessible and please get in touch if you have any accessibility needs or would like to discuss any support you may need on the day.
There are no public toilets on site with the nearest at Dunkeld (50p entry). It will take 1.5 hours to get to The Hermitage from Edinburgh so we will be stopping on the way there and back for a toilet break.
Please bring plenty of water, snacks and lunch. It might still be quite cold and damp so please wear appropriate footwear, warm clothing and waterproofs (if you have them).
