Join us for a powerful online conversation on Trans Day of Visibility, celebrating Black Trans Resilience and Joy with the UK Black Pride team, trans activists, and creatives. This free session will centre the voices and experiences of Black trans people, exploring how resilience and joy coexist in the face of transphobic policies, rhetoric, and systemic challenges. From activism and art to community care and everyday acts of survival and celebration, we’ll showcase the ways Black trans people are shining, inspiring, and sustaining themselves.

Timon he/him (Host) - UK Black Pride

Timon is a London-based DJ whose sound blends Deep House, Soulful House, Afro House and Afro Tech. He ushers in the warm rhythms of South African, Chicago & global grooves. Also a host of Coffee Deep sundays at 365 Sounds, Timon curates
lush, soul-stirring journeys that balance rhythm and emotion, creating spaces for connection, reflection, and pure musical
joy. He brings his ancestral roots in music.Call him eclectic.
Amanda Kamanda (she/her) - activist, model, refugee advocate

Amanda Kamanda is a transwoman activist, model, refugee advocate, and co-founder of Minority Inclusion Front (MIF UK). Originally from Uganda, Amanda was forced to flee due to severe persecution for being both transgender and a human rights defender. Arriving in the UK in 2021, she became a vocal leader in the fight for LGBTQ+ and refugee rights, using her lived experience to challenge hostile discriminatory laws and policies. Amanda is Miss Transglobal Uganda and made history as the first transgender woman to represent Uganda in an international beauty pageant miss Trans Global.
Amanda has an MSc in international development, social justice and sustainability where she works to elevate the voices of LGBTQ+ asylum seekers and refugees through "Two Refugees Walking", a campaign raising funds for refugee-led organizations. Her work is rooted in resilience, empowerment, and the belief that every displaced person deserves dignity, safety, and a future where they can live authentically and freely. Amanda Kamanda is a 2025 ambassador for refugee week UK.
Ayesha Bowen (she/her) - UK Black Pride

Ayesha Bowen is a pro industry makeup artist and hairstylist, as well as a creative beauty director and event host, with over 17 years of professional experience and a lifelong passion for beauty spanning more than three decades. Known for her work in creative direction, runway, and event beauty.
Her personal journey is just as powerful as her professional one. Having begun her transition over 40 years ago and undergoing gender reassignment surgery 34 years ago, Ayesha is a proud and visible advocate for trans inclusion. She actively champions anti-racism and LGBTQ+ rights, and is a (pending) trustee for a trans non-binary charity in the North of England, alongside her role as a core operations team member at UK Black Pride.
Cairo Nevitt (He/him) - Fitness, media, and the arts.

Cairo Nevitt is a Caribbean–English trans speaker, performer, and athlete whose work sits at the intersection of fitness, media, and the arts. He became Britain’s first openly trans man featured in Muscle & Fitness UK, later winning three European bodybuilding titles.
As former Head Coach at Not a Phase, Cairo has played a key role in advancing trans wellbeing, supporting thousands through fitness and community-led work. He began his career in the arts as a professional actor, award-winning poet, and filmmaker, and has appeared in Channel 4’s The Making of Me.
Now working across performance and public speaking, Cairo brings clarity, presence, and lived experience to conversations on inclusion, resilience, and identity.

Bleecker Burger is a queer-owned business founded by Zan Kaufman, a former New York corporate lawyer who swapped boardrooms for burgers. After moving to London in 2012, she launched Bleecker as a food truck, bringing her passion for craft burgers to the streets of the city. Today, Bleecker has grown to operate food trucks across eight locations in London and has earned critical acclaim, including being named National Burger of the Year 2024.
